Parenting 303

1.  It's a good thing to play with your children, however playing catch with a child that does not exactly know how to catch may result in less than desirable consequences.

2.  When it get's a little too quiet check on your child right then, not 5 minutes later, not "just after I finish this email", and certainly don't entertain the idea that "Oh, he's finally playing by himself for a bit."

3. If your child is very sleepy, for heaven sake let 'em sleep, he'll do it anyway weather you want him to or not.

4.  There's no harm in unusual tenancies such as wearing oven mitts every day for hours.  It'll wear off and he'll soon move on to something else.  Such as emptying his clothes hamper and playing inside it.

5. Savor every moment, even the not so pleasant ones, because sooner than you imagined they go from baby crib to big boy bed and pushing their own shopping carts.
